Return and Refund Policy
This policy explains the statutory EU right of withdrawal, our voluntary 30-day return extension, refunds, exchanges and remedies for faulty or incorrect goods.
1. Summary
- Statutory withdrawal: notify us within 14 calendar days after delivery of eligible goods, without giving a reason.
- Return after notice: send the goods back within 14 calendar days after notifying us.
- Voluntary extension: eligible unused items may also be returned up to 30 calendar days after delivery, subject to the additional conditions below.
- Return method: by post or tracked parcel carrier to the return address supplied for the order.
- Restocking fee: none.
- Refund method: the original payment method unless another method is expressly agreed or required by law.
2. EU statutory right of withdrawal
When you buy eligible goods online as a consumer, you may withdraw from the contract within 14 calendar days without giving a reason. For a single delivery, the period begins on the day after you or a third person designated by you, other than the carrier, receives the goods. If one order is delivered in separate parcels, the period generally begins after receipt of the final parcel or item.
To exercise the right in time, send a clear statement before the 14-day period expires. Email info@theleisuremode.com, use our Contact Us page, or use the optional EU Withdrawal Form. The model form is optional and no reason or prior approval is required.
3. Sending the goods back
After notifying us of withdrawal, send the goods back without undue delay and no later than 14 calendar days after the notice. We will provide the correct return destination and reference for the relevant product. Returns are made by post or a parcel carrier. Keep proof of dispatch until the return is completed.
Do not send a return to our business correspondence address, a supplier address, or the address printed on the original parcel unless our written return instructions specifically direct you there.
4. Condition of goods and diminished value
You may inspect and try on clothing in the same way that would normally be permitted in a shop. You are responsible only for any diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Please return goods clean and securely packaged. Original tags and packaging help us identify and protect the item, but their absence does not by itself cancel a statutory withdrawal right. A lawful deduction may be made when excessive handling, wear, washing, alteration, stains, odours or damage has reduced the value.
5. Return shipping costs
For a change-of-mind withdrawal or ordinary return, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods, unless we agree to pay it. Choose a suitable tracked service and pay the carrier directly.
If goods are defective, damaged on arrival, incorrect or not as described, The Leisure Mode is responsible for an appropriate remedy and will cover reasonable return shipping when a return is required.
6. Refunds following statutory withdrawal
We will reimburse payments received for the withdrawn goods, including the cost of the least expensive standard outbound delivery method offered for the order. We do not have to reimburse an extra amount paid because you selected a more expensive express or premium delivery method.
We will issue the reimbursement without undue delay and no later than 14 calendar days after receiving your withdrawal notice. We may withhold the refund until we receive the goods or you provide evidence that they were sent back, whichever occurs first. Refunds are made to the original payment method and will not incur a fee from The Leisure Mode. Your bank or payment provider may need additional time to display the funds.
7. Exceptions to the statutory withdrawal right
The withdrawal right does not apply where a legal exception applies, including goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised, and sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health-protection or hygiene reasons after the seal has been broken. The exception is interpreted narrowly and does not remove remedies for goods that are faulty, unsafe, incorrect or not as described.
Sale or discounted goods retain the same statutory consumer rights as full-price goods.
8. Voluntary 30-day return extension
In addition to the statutory right, we offer a voluntary return window ending 30 calendar days after delivery for eligible goods. A return requested only under this extension, after the statutory withdrawal period has expired, must be unused, unworn except for a careful indoor fitting, unwashed, unaltered and returned with original tags. The customer pays return shipping. Original outbound delivery charges are not refunded under the voluntary extension unless required by law.
Personalised goods, gift cards and goods that cannot be resold for genuine health or hygiene reasons are excluded from the voluntary extension. This commercial extension does not restrict any statutory right.
9. Faulty, damaged, incorrect or non-conforming goods
Inspect the order after delivery and contact us when something is wrong. Include the order number, a description and photographs where available. Photographs help us assess the issue but are not a condition for exercising a legal right.
EU consumers have a minimum two-year legal guarantee for goods that are faulty or do not conform to the contract, and some national laws provide longer protection. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, the remedy may be repair, replacement, price reduction or refund, without charge to the consumer.
10. Exchanges
Exchanges depend on product and size availability. Contact us within the applicable return period. We may arrange an exchange or ask you to return the original item for a refund and place a new order. For an ordinary preference or size exchange, the customer normally pays return shipping; we cover reasonable shipping where the exchange is required because we supplied faulty or incorrect goods.
11. Refused and unclaimed deliveries
Refusing or failing to collect a parcel does not replace the withdrawal notification procedure. Contact us promptly. Actual costs caused by an incorrect address, an unjustified refusal or failure to collect may be charged or deducted only where clearly explained and permitted by law.
